Uses: Used as a cationic dye intermediate to synthesize various red dyes such as cationic red X-GRL. It is also a heterocyclic intermediate, which can be used in the pharmaceutical synthesis of azole pyrimide. Pesticides are used as herbicides, especially as cotton defoliants.
